Who are we?

Scouts prepares young people with skills for life – helping them speak up and play their part. Each week we give almost half a million people aged 6-25 the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.

We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience & skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians.

We believe in bringing people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always. We’re part of a worldwide movement, creating stronger communities and inspiring positive futures.

As we look to the future and the what it can bring and how as an individual we can promote ourselves to a possible new employer, maybe this is the time to evaluate the skills you do not have in a competative market place.

Employers today look for persons with transferable skills and the abilty to have a toolkit of adaptable outcomes to meet changing roles in employment and on that CV or application stand out above all others going for that job.

One thing that Scouting can do for anyone is give you these multi skills both through working with adults and young people, but also completing the varied training we offer across both mandatory and ongoing training modules makes you unique. These new skills and opportunities will give you a much sought after and greater employabilty against those who do not.

So giving up some time and if you have energy and you are looking to reskill, to give you greater opprtunity either as a leader or scouting supporter then we can help. So why not get intouch as see how we can help you while you help young people reach their goals.
